I am an amateur photographer who owns a Nikon D70, a Leica V-Lux1 and a Sony DSC-W55. This particular site, maltaflowers, is dedicated to the rich floral biodiversity existing in my tiny island-home, Malta. Malta comprises a small Central Mediterranean archipelago with a total surface area of 315 sq. kms (122 sq. miles) which in spite of being one of the most densely populated countries in the world with 415,000 residents and 1.4 million tourists, features no less than 1,100 different plant species, including a few endemic ones. The best website for Maltese flora is www.maltawildplants.com which I frequently use as the source for describing my photos, and to which I give full credit. Please enjoy my humble efforts at popularising the beauty and diversity of nature in Malta.
