Renee Makino is a Canadian abstract artist painting in an expressive style, primarily in acrylic on canvas.

This portfolio of my art has been publicly viewable on Flickr only since Spring 2026.

My abstracted paintings of special places are based on my own photographs, later re-imagined in paint on canvas

with gestural strokes, textures, and colors, highlighting interesting discovered forms, shapes, light and shadows.

My non-objective paintings transform aspects of some of my original paintings or intuitive pen on paper sketches,

through further abstraction, paint, mark-making, and color.

Some of my paintings have received prizes and awards in juried exhibitions in Toronto region in Ontario Canada.
