Make Goals Not War follows the journey of a young man, Maty Campeonisimo, to the 2006 World Cup in Germany. Campeonisimo, who was born in Argentina but transplanted at an early age to ice hockey-crazed Canada, carries a deep passion for the sport of his birthplace. The film follows Campeonisimo as he fulfills his life-long dream to attend a World Cup; a dream inspired by his fond childhood memories of Argentina's home victory in 1978. Driving Campeonisimo's journey is a personal mission for peace, rooted in the belief that football has the potential to unite people and enable them to overcome their differences. Campeonisimo hopes that by gaining support from his fellow football fans and government officials, he can promote an international system where war is outlawed and football matches become the means to resolve international conflicts.
