Flickrite since October 2008

In case you hadn't already noticed, my Flickr photostream is about 98% birds. I like to record the changing of the seasons, and nature, through the lens of birds, wildlife and occasionally plants. My posts usually include commentary, sometimes literal and sometimes stream-of-conciousness. Likewise, I gravitate to contacts with a similar style who editorialize on their own photos. I appreciate an imperfect image with a great story more than a perfect image with no story. My commenting is adventurous; be assured it is always intended with good humor.

Please DO NOT Flickrmail me to try to drive traffic to your photostream, blog, or external website. I understand the need for self-promotion, but for me Flickr is purely recreational. I do not belong to any other social media and my photography is not a commercial enterprise. I get too many emails for work-related purposes already and I cannot manage Flickr solicitations too.

Please by all means DO Flickrmail me if there is a particular photo you want me to see. Since I post less than once a day on average now, I cannot always keep up in my regular rounds. Most especially if it’s that nemesis bird we’ve chatted about, or an ID challenge, or a life bird, please DO share.

I appreciate and welcome invites, even if I don’t always have time to post to groups.

I first come across Maia Bird's Blue Jay picture - one of the best I have seen - and checked out the rest of her work. I must say, Maia Bird has some of the best bird pictures that I have come across, apparently, a very talented nature photographer. In addition, she has also provided praise and/or comments on the works of her fellow Flickr members. Last, but not least, she is a passionate person, who likes to help others. I have started a group a few months ago and struggled with some of the settings. I asked for help from other members without much success. Maia Bird was kind enough to help me out with the configuration, and follow up to see it through. That gesture shows great character, and I am honoured to have her as a fellow Flickr member. Thank you, Maia Bird for the help you have extended to me.
