My name is Mahen Jayasena and I’m an independent and freelance wildlife, life style and landscape photographer. Born in Sri Lanka, which is known to be home to some of the best wildlife sanctuaries in the world, in addition to having a rich cultural heritage and history, I currently work as a senior creative lead in a well reputed software development company based in the heart of Colombo.

Being mostly into wildlife photography, my studio is the world outside my door, where the only equipment required is a camera and willingness to look for new perspectives. Lighting is courtesy of whatever is available whether sun, sky or moon. I personally believe that there is much more to wildlife photography than animals in exotic locations; rather, it’s about seeing our surroundings with fresh eyes and childlike enthusiasm.
