I am married and the mother of three lovely children (32-year- old son, a 28-year-old son, and a 28-year-old daughter. My oldest son and his beautiful wife (who I think of as a second daughter) have also blessed me with a wonderful grand-daughter and grandson, who are my favorite photographic subjects.

They are my pride and joy.

I am also "Mom" to a very spoiled cat and coonhound, plus a tribe of outdoor semi-feral kitties, and am always looking for various critters to take care of.

Although I hold degrees in computer networking and secondary education (math major, chemistry and computer minors) , I have not worked for some time due to factors beyond my control. I am hoping to someday be able to work as a tutor as teaching has always been a passion for me. For now, I am happy teaching my grandkids whatever useful skills I am able to pass on to them.

In our spare time, my husband and I enjoy fishing, hunting, gardening, foraging, and exploring our backyard (a network of county parks), and keeping up with Detroit Red Wings hockey. I also enjoy reading and am a huge history buff. And of course we love to cook (and eat) all of our homegrown/harvested bounty.

Waaayyyy back in high school, I had a Minolta and was a pretty decent photographer. Then life happened and now I take family snapshots with a P&S Canon.

Flickr has inspired a desire to start taking some serious pictures again. We live in a beautiful world - photography is a worthy means of appreciating it.

I've enjoyed so much getting to see Maggie's world- her animals, her beautiful home and most of all her family. I feel as though I've seen her children grow up through her wonderful, loving photographs. She has an amazing talent, both for showing the beauty around her, and the beauty inside. I can see that she's the center of this loving family. It doesn't get any better than that.
