Paragraph for PJ:
This year in Photojournalism, I've learned different techniques and displayed them through my photography. The CALL method really started me off on taking basic photos. We started with composition; lines, rule of thirds, framing, merging, simplicity, and balance. For example, in rule of thirds, I take the 3 x 3 grid and make sure my subject is in center with where the grid connects. This way, it sort of makes the subject off center and more interesting. All the compositions are really easy once I learned their definitions and tried them out. Overall they helped with everything we've learned in photojournalism and I probably use at least one in every photo. The film was probably my favorite thing we did this year. Using the developer, stop bath, and fixer was just the beginning. Once we used the bag to develope our negatives, we printed our film and made 5 x 7's. Eventually we got to burning and dodging, which was a useful touch to the printing process. I really enjoy film and probably wouldn't have tried it at all without taking this class. I also wouldn't know how to work my camera as well as I do now, and that's a neccesity for photographers. This class helped me go the next step.
