Voz, “voice” in Spanish, is a contemporary fair trade fashion company that uses design innovation to aid indigenous artisans out of poverty by connecting them to the fashion industry. Starting in Southern Chile with a community of Mapuche women, product designers and indigenous weavers will collaborate to produce environmentally pristine fashions that both represent Mapuche ethnic culture and appeal to high-end boutiques. We use contemporary design to connect fair trade practices to wider international audiences enabling us to offer greater social benefits to those living in rural poverty and empower indigenous women professionally, financially and creatively.
