I am a 54yr old woman who was born and bred in the Hertfordshire countryside. Although I live on the East Coast at the moment. My father was a great birder, who apart from birdwatching also kept and bred budgies, pigeons and wild birds ( before it was illegal ofcourse!) He also took in injured and juvenille birds which were brought to him from local people. So I grew up helping him to care for the birds and creatures that were brought to him. I hand reared lots of young birds, amongst them Linnets, Finches, Tits etc.. I also hand reared a squirrel from 2 days old. I have a great love of all wildlife and love being outdoors and have now started photographing birds and wildlife that I see in their natural habitats, but am a bit of a novice at it! I have very recently (2011) started photographing flowers and find it quite enjoyable taking a photo of a subject that doesnt fly or run away! Also I do not beleive in killing a beautiful flower just to photograph it, so most of mine are growing as nature intended....apart from a few in boquets!! I do not photoshop my photos so all are natural, except for cropping and perhaps a bit of brightness/contrast as I prefer them to look natural.

2013 I now use a Nikon D3200 with a Nikon DX 55-300 lens.
