I like to travel to new places and meet interesting people. Keenly inclined towards Nature Photography, outdoors, planted tank aquariums!

My photography off late is much restricted to Butterflies, Amphibians, Serpents, and Big Mammals. I have been recently focussing my photography on documenting the butterflies found mostly in the Indian subcontinent, ranging from my home country of India to Indonesia. All my photographs of the butterflies are clicked in their natural environment.

Its interesting to note that most of the butterfly species (read about 900) are concentrated only in a few North-Eastern states of Arunachal, Sikkim, Meghalaya, parts of Northern West Bengal and Assam. While the rest of the 400 and odd species are found in the rest of India. Again of which, about 330 species are found in the Western Ghats spread across 3 major states of Maharashtra, Karnataka and Kerala.

I wish to photo-document at least a 1000 Indian Butterfly species in the next few years to come. Its alarming to know the rate of forest destruction currently happening in our country. Its always a race against time. The importance has been all the more than ever before to visit these once pristine jungles before we loose it all.
