Lyric documentary, a phrase used in an essay about the photography of Fred Herzog. I thought it neatly summarizes the way I feel and approach photography: lyrically. Sometimes it’s the atmosphere, the feeling, the ‘vibe’ that gets my attention. At other times, it’s the memory of something distant. I also like to think about the ideas of things and what they mean to me, similarly to the way perfumers think about scent. Photography as armchair travel, as a time machine, as a mood.

I’m no professional. There is still much to learn. I shoot on Fujifilm X100V and on my phone. Whatever comes in handy.
