Art and nature are my lifeblood. Photography is the vehicle for these driving forces; specifically, photography that expresses a different way of seeing and experiencing a particular place on this beautiful, but fragile, blue globe.

As an east coast native who relocated to the Pacific Northwest, I bring fresh eyes to the northwestern landscape; as someone who spent her formative years exposed to the art landscape of New York in the early 1970's, I assimilated the values of questioning assumptions and challenging perceptions.

Whether via an emotional response to an image that has (perhaps) less detail and (perhaps) more play of light and dark, or via an appreciation of a more straightforward representation of the scene - either way, I want the viewer to wake up. To question what is seen, to look at the world differently, to be more alert to beauty.

Six photographs that embody a different way of viewing conservatories and an artist statement can be seen in the book, Seeing in Sixes: 2018, put out by LensWork Publishing, September 2018.
