My icon is in honor of my loving grandmother, who had this depiction of Arabian horses hanging in her living room when I was a child.

My daughters negahdron (Katie) and Ubi Caritas (Emily) got me started on Flickr in 2007. I have learned so much since then, and I continue to learn every day from the work and comments and encouragement of my Flickr friends. You all are my favorite part of Flickr!

Until May of 2009, I used only my compact Canon SD850 point and shoot. Since then I have been trying very hard to learn to use my Rebel XT. It's a steep learning curve for me! Update: December 2010: Now I am using a Canon 40D. April 2011: Back to the Rebel, since someone stole the 40D. September 2011: I am buying another point and shoot, the Canon HS500.

I really appreciate all the compliments I get on my photos, but would also welcome any educational advice you can offer, and any suggestions-- don't be shy!

Photography is teaching me how to see the beauty in little things I used to overlook. Macros are my favorites for that reason, but I want to stretch myself in lots of directions. Thanks, dear friends, for all your encouragement. It means a lot to me!
