Carol's pictures are amazing; the depth, emotion and beauty from a relatively limited range of subjects is incredible. I adore this photographer, and look forward to every picture.

The most evocative portraits on flickr. Looking through her stream makes me want to stop messing with cameras.

Carol does not use a camera, she uses magic, I am sure of it. Come on, admit it already!

Whether the images are her superb figure studies, or a shot of grasses in the dunes, they all share a certain intimacy that has you spellbound. If you have any sense at all, you will view her work at the largest size, that way you really can get the sense of art and poetry that she captures. To see Carol's photography, is to see genuine beauty! ...What a talent!

The lydiannacat is one of those streams I will always visit whenever Carol uploads new images - she uses light in ways I like very much - her self-portraits are always impressive, and sometimes outstanding - I also like the way she photographs the coast

For having been on flickr for nearly a year now her work still continues to grab my attention because each capture is truly unique and conveys a wide range of emotions, not to mention visual appeal. Carol is one of the few true artists i've run across here on flickr. I look forward to see where her creativity takes her.

the day i found carol on here, i think my perspective on photography was completely turned on its head. i have seen things in a way my mind never thought to process them and been reminded of the "artform" that photography truly is. it is astonishing to me as to how readily she can continue to process these just totally mind-numbing works of mastery, day after day. she is her own best model, and not merely because of the same reason that some of us are sort of "stuck" with only ourselves as models. i think that if she DID find someone else to model for her, they would not even come close to capturing the grace, beauty and poise that she does. carol, you are an inspiration to me more than you could know and more than i could express. thank you for sharing your brilliance with us here. sincerely.

“I always strive to inspire others as much as I have been inspired to create something out of the beauty I see every day.” - The lydiannacat. I asked Carol, aka “The lydiannacat," if I could draft a testimonial for her to review and see if she wished to post it on her profile page. She kindly said I could draft one. In an email she wrote in response to some comments I made, she wrote me the above words. I love her ideas. There are lots of theories about art and its inspirations, techniques, purposes, and motivations. Carol’s well selected and concise words state clearly and imply so many intelligent concepts about artistic creativity. I don’t know Carol personally. I’m only familiar with some of her artworks. And from my first encounter with her artworks, I have collected them. Her larger nude photographs are eloquent and quiet. But her feelings, tone and sexuality imbue all her photographs, even photos of dandelions and sand. And THAT is a far more difficult and beautiful thing for an artist to achieve. Her photographs do not have to raise their voice to communicate. Like so many beautiful persons, she can communicate her trust visually, not needing to persuade you with bravado. She knows her value. She knows her beauty. She is not conceited or narcissitic as one might incorrectly presume of a self-portrait artist. Her intent is not to say, “See how I have ideal characteristics?” Rather, she shows you the beauty of her personality, her quiet knowledge of self-worth, and her ability to see the beauty and potential in what most people cannot see so close to them. She said she works “to create something out of the beauty I see every day.” Whether you are an “artist” or not, I believe her above objective is worth emulating. Search for beauty. Sometimes beauty will not exist until you define, compose, and publish it. Carol is not an artist who happens to luckily come across more beautiful things to photograph everyday. She creates more beauty all around her from no more exposure to or opportunity than most of us encounter each day. She not only sees it, she also fashions it and presents it in a favorable light. And I regularly learn something not only from her artworks, but as often from her creative intellect. Carol’s work suggests to me that art is fashioned through care, clarity, balance, love, acceptance, transparency, and an openness that regulary risks vulnerability.
