I'm a retired engineer now spending time with outdoor activities including nature photography. I'm an avid birder and birds are my primary camera targets, but I'm also an visual opportunist and my birding treks have opened new vistas into other natural treasures.

I identify as to species and post most of my better bird shots and hope that my photostream will become known as a reliable source for viewing most of the birds of at least the western states.

I also post nature shots taken on trips to other areas and identify as to species shown in these photos where possible. Each of my shots includes the location and time the photo was taken.

Some bird shots are necessarily taken at considerable distance and are cropped to include less than ideal pixel numbers. I include all pictures that I think might be of certain value to beginning and/or avid birders and researchers and offer my apologies to the purer photographers who may disdain such inclusions.
