I've always had an interest in photography but never had the financial means to buy myself a camera with anything but auto mode.

On my 21st birthday, I was bought a Canon 500D by my absolutely fantastic parents and I have endeavoured to take photos as frequently as possible.

Due to work and other circumstances this process hasn't really kicked off yet but in April 2011 I had a renewed sense of purpose. While my photos may not do the 500D justice right now, I'm having fun learning, which is all I care about.

I'm a PhD student at the University of Essex. My life revolves around programming, badminton, falling in love with the wrong girls, photography and awkward situations.
