I've been taking photographs since, when at the ripe old age of 8, my parents shoved a Kodak Box Brownie into my hands when I was going on a trip with the cub scouts. Since that wet, cold and miserable introduction to roll film photography I've somehow progressed through 35mm compacts and SLR cameras, developing black and white negatives and film in kitchens, church boiler rooms, and back bedrooms, until reaching the heady heights of modern digital photography.
Having used and lugged around Nikon DSLRs for a few years, I still spends wet, cold and miserable days taking photographs (it’s addictive), just that I've downsized to Fuji's mirrorless system as it's somewhat lighter to carry some 50+ years on.
Having lived mainly in the south-east of England my work has focused on the locality of the Medway Towns, mainly Rochester, London and the Kent coast. Having now relocated to the other end of the country in north Aberdeenshire, the opportunity arises to discover new horizons.
Richard currently uses Fujifilm X-series cameras and a second hand Leica D-Lux7.
Please note: I hold the full copyright to all my photographs. If there is an image you wish to use in some way then please feel free to get in touch providing details of proposed use, who the user is etc. While I take photographs as a hobby this does not mean that I necessarily provide photographs on a charity basis, i.e. I might charge for the use of a shot - it'll still be probably cheaper than getting a pro out to do the job.
