Minha Jornada Fotográfica: Raízes, Visão e Propósito

 

Paulistano da Zona Sul, nascido em 1961, trago com orgulho minhas raízes em Santo Amaro. Naquela época, o bairro – que já foi um município com rica história – era um refúgio de natureza pulsante, cenário que marcou minha infância e juventude.

 

Foi ali, no entorno da represa Guarapiranga e do Autódromo de Interlagos, que cresci, estudei até o ensino superior e trabalhei até 1998. Nesse ano, escolhi a cidade de Piracicaba/SP como meu novo lar. Hoje, sou um piracicabano de coração, imensamente grato por tudo que esta acolhedora cidade do interior paulista me proporciona.

 

Minha trajetória profissional, entre 1978 e 2018, foi integralmente dedicada ao ensino superior, atuando na Universidade de Santo Amaro (Unisa) e na Universidade Metodista de Piracicaba (Unimep).

 

Paralelamente, a fotografia sempre esteve presente. O que começou como uma paixão de menino, um hobby compartilhado por tantos, amadureceu e, somente agora, floresce em algo mais profundo e concreto. Desde cedo, meu olhar e pensamento intuíam que a fotografia poderia ser mais do que um simples passatempo.

 

Hoje, encontro minha principal expressão na fotografia de paisagem e natureza. São os temas com os quais mais me identifico, pois acredito que fotografar a natureza e compartilhar esses registros é um caminho importante para sensibilizar a todos(as) sobre a necessidade de sua preservação.

My Photography Journey: Roots, Vision and Purpose

 

Born in 1961, a native of the South Zone of São Paulo, I proudly bring my roots to Santo Amaro. At that time, the neighborhood – which was once a city with a rich history – was a haven of vibrant nature, a setting that marked my childhood and youth.

 

It was there, around the Guarapiranga dam and the Interlagos racetrack, that I grew up, studied until higher education and worked until 1998. That year, I chose the city of Piracicaba/SP as my new home. Today, I am a Piracicaba native at heart, immensely grateful for everything that this welcoming city in the interior of São Paulo has provided me.

 

My professional career, between 1978 and 2018, was entirely dedicated to higher education, working at the University of Santo Amaro (Unisa) and the Methodist University of Piracicaba (Unimep).

 

At the same time, photography has always been present. What began as a childhood passion, a hobby shared by so many, has matured and is only now blossoming into something deeper and more concrete. From an early age, my vision and thoughts intuited that photography could be more than just a pastime.

 

Today, I find my main expression in landscape and nature photography. These are the themes with which I identify most, because I believe that photographing nature and sharing these records is an important way to raise awareness about the need for its preservation.
