I am, as of September 2008, an ex primary teacher with a love of photographing wildlife in the wild. The map shows where I have been with my camera to photograph animals, an interest begun in 1990 on a wildlife trip to Australia.
Sadly I am not very good at identifying creatures so often have to ask others to tell me what it is I have photographed! I have been lucky that quite a number of people have helped me greatly, some with a specific area and others with many areas. I owe them a great deal as without them I would have little idea of what I had photographed in many cases.
I love photographing nature, but am not a photographer. Ambient light etc. are terms that mean nothing to me. I like to photograph what I see and record it as well as possible, partly because my non-existant visual memory would mean I have no record in my head of anything I see. It seems to be a form of Prosopagnosia and applies to everything and not just faces. I photograph what I see in the wild, as a memory of that and not as a photographer. I do not photograph creatures in captivity as a rule, though very occasionally I will photograph a creature I have seen in the wild but didn't get a decent photo. I don't tend to use those photos in displays, on Flickr or the like.
The map below shows where I have been to photograph wildlife, though I was unable to show Sabah (I had to imply Malaysia) or Galapagos (I had to imply Ecuador). That, I believe, is a shortcoming of the program used.

I am not sure why it appears that two thirds of people looking at my photos come from Britain. I can see no reason why that should be.
The link below shows which of my photos got into Flickr Explore.
