Greetings fellow image-ineers!

 

The website for sharing our Lake Powell Workshop images is ready for you to upload images from our recent adventure.

I look forward to seeing what others have created, and encourage all to share and comment as you see fit.

A couple words about the site first.

 

This is not the 'normal' use of Flickr, but a shared account that I hope will be easier for non-flickr members to use.

For those familiar with flickr, the idea is to share a single account and place participant photos in their own group, with 'tags' to make it easier to search for people or whatever.

If you already have a flickr accout or wish to create one, you will need to upload to that space separately.

 

Images are 'public', but since they are not shared to any flickr groups they are unlikely to be found by non participants.

Nevertheless, the usual caution and protection of your images (copyright, watermark, size, etc) should be considered.

 

The 'About' tab contains each persons name and a place to put your website and email info if you wish.

 

Each participant has their own 'Album' for images you decide to upload.

My Album contains a few that I have processed and uploaded already.

This is a free flickr account so the total number of images is limited to 1,000.

 

OK then - here is the procedure :

 

Login to the account

Website: www.flickr.com/lp2023/ (this is the public photostream page)

then, on the upper right of page

Log in: xxxxx

PW: xxxxx

(See your email for login info)

 

Upload images

(click the up arrow inside the cloud icon on upper right of page)

on the next page, choose from folder or drag images to upload

image thumbnails will appear with a menu on the left of the page

choose 'add to albums' and a list appears.

select your name, then 'done'.

choose 'add tags' and select "art" or "people" for the batch

OR select individual thumbnails and add tags for each group member in the image. Typing the first letter in a name will bring up a suggestion of names already used.

You can also add a description of the images if you wish.

In the upper right of this screen, choose 'Upload Photos' to complete the upload.

The 'photostream' page now shows your uploaded images.

 

Review Album

Click the 'Albums' tab on the Photostream page

You now see each persons album

Click your Album

You should see the images you just uploaded

Use the 'Edit Cover' icon to change the Album cover to one of your images

 

Updates

You can edit your individual images to add or edit tabs, titles, description, etc. by clicking on the image.

Comments can also be placed on any image on the site.

 

To search the images in the account, use the search icon that is just above the photostream, not the one at the top of the flick page.

Search will locate images that have been tagged with the search word.

 

I will place these instructions in the 'About' tab just below participants names and contact info.
