I love Davin and he knows why. His work - as an elder I have been inspired to become a web designer, reawaken my interest in photography, and to join with Flickr afficionados. People like Davin are more brave than you think. He quit an extremely well-paid art director job because they wouldn't let him do enough of the art! Like myself, he does not want to see the net and its possibilities for visually gifted people, to die into a whitened, glaring, commercial jungle. Take time to look at Davs photos, because they are not just a superficial thrill. They have a story to tell, and part of that is of gifted awareness, and imagination.

Davin is such a wonderful guy, truely talented eye, but very grounded dispite his abilities.

Finding time to do the things you want in between what you must do can be difficult. Not too long ago I put my camera away because I didn't have the time for it, and sort of lost interest in photography. Sometime later I discovered photoblogs and began seeing some really great photographs. Of the photoblogs I found Davin's site low resolution became one of my favorites. His simple approach to taking photographs, his use of depth of field, saturated color film and choice of subjects drew me in. My interest in photography was reawakened, and I felt inspired by the work of Davin and other photobloggers. If you are new to Davin works I definitely recommend spending some time looking through his photographs and visiting his site. Davin's work is worth noticing and I am indebted to him for helping get me back into photography.

when i think of davin, i think of that summer when we were both just out of highschool. we spent most of our days in our secret clearing in the woods. it was surrounded by rusting abandoned appliances. most of the time we would just drink a few beers and then make a game out of throwing stones at the empty bottles. but this one time we built a pipe bomb out of pvc and gunpowder. we made a really long fuse. we placed it carefully inside of an old maytag washing machine, lit the fuse and ran like hell. we dove into a small ditch and peeked around the tree to watch. it took about 20 seconds after our dive to explode, but it seemed like forever. and when it did, it blew the door off of the top. it got at least three stories worth of air and summersaulted the entire way up and down.
