amateur photographer enjoying my new hobby. i would love to go pro someday.

what to say? there is a lot about me to just sum up here...

well all my life i have been a creative individual. when i was a child, i used to love to interpret my emotions through dance. as i grew, i would write poetry and short stories. then i got into music and played a clarinet for a few years and then later a guitar. i love to sketch images on occassion. as an adult, i started creating beaded and wire jewelry. my grandmother taught me to crochet when i was a child and i continue to do so even to this day. i guess you could say, i love to create art in many different mediums.

i have always loved photography ever since i was given my first 110 camera as a little girl. for several years i owned just a cheap vivitar 35mm camera. when digital cameras came out i got a POLAROID P5080. I loved the benefits of a digital camera but as time wore on I wanted a better quality photo. then in the spring of 2007 i bought a Fujifilm Finefix S5700 and was very impressed with it. But still I wanted better quality camera, which promted me to buy my first professional grade dslr, a Canon Digital Rebel XTI. since then i have been not able to put the camera down; and purchased several lenses and filters. and then on july 4, 2008 i upgraded to a Canon Digital Rebel XSI. i love to take nature shots and any natural beauty that i see. my eyes are always looking for the perfect composition, it's usually not a conscious effort.

i just recently took up self portraiture. some may think it's because i'm conceited or vein. this is far from the truth. i am a very humble person with no delusions. i KNOW that i am not beautiful, in fact i think that beauty is completely irrelevant to self portraiture. SP is about your artistic creation of yourself, showing your emotion at the time, showing your flaws and personality.

i am a very friendly and empathetic person that cares about the feelings of others, seeking kindness and acceptance in a world that is dwindling and near void of it at times.

i continue to learn and grow as a photographer and therefore love to review the work of others.
