Confessions: I am not a rah-rah kind of person and I hardly ever read my Yahoo/Flickr mail. I appreciate comments; but to a fault - I am not a prolific issuer - or timely acknowledger - of same.

Other profile info: SWDM; 75+; 2 grown daughters & 2 indoor cats; Lifelong resident of NE PA, where civilization has become disappointingly noticeable. But ups are still able to be found in spite of a growing number of downs which have found me.

Flickr's changes in May, 2013, which catered to the touch-screen generation, caused me to become a very sporadic uploader to Flickr...but with more than 20,000 images already here, I have not deleted my Flickr account. Glad that I did not because the site that I defected to (Dropbox) has changed more undesirably than Flickr! And before Flickr, it was Webshots that changed, causing the first migration to Flickr.

The disturbing lesson is that when sites make unilateral changes that are not to your liking, your options become (1) Settle for something less than what attracted you in the first place (Can you say "Bait and switch"?); or (2) completely abandon ship, which would result in undoing much effort.

Fast-forward to the present... When the spirit moves me (in other words, "very, very slowly") I hope to upload - in no particular order - thousands of post-May-2013 images to my Flickr photostream. Since spring, 2013, train-photo-ing has been my primary passion, and my archive has been accordingly arranged if accessed via albums

or collections

...the latter being a link more representative of diversity and simplicity. Hopefully a few roses will be found among the thorns here.

Realizing that you've lived the best parts of your life is very sobering.

Thanks if you're still reading. Not surprised, though, if this was a turn-off and resulted in tuning-out long before this.

Happy trails!
