I am a Prof. of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical University of South Carolina and hold the Endowed Chair in Marine Genomics at the Hollings Marine Laboratory. I was, until 2010, a professor of Biology (Reproductive and Developmental Biology) at the University of Florida for 25 years. I work extensively with American alligators and Nile crocodiles as well as an array of other wildlife species. My work takes me to various countries and currently we have projects ongoing in South Africa, Mexico, Japan and Australia. My lab works in the area of reproductive biology (molecular to whole organism physiology) and ecotoxicology.
I have done wildlife and landscape photography for decades but got back into it seriously in the last few years with the development of digital cameras that now duplicate the quality of the 35mm film cameras I previously used. I currently use Canon 50D and 1D Mark IV bodies and an array of lens.
