Born in Providence, RI, fiber artist, Ashi Scott-Bey received education in art & fashion at RI School of Design, as well as through independent study, and apprenticeship. Serving as an independent artist and arts educator over the years, has allowed for much experimentation, diversification and growth in her work. Her imagery is greatly influenced by a lifelong interest in spirituality, world culture and philosophy.
Currently living in Kentucky, Ms. Scott-Bey is working in her studio, with various media on natural textiles, coloring, sewing, beading, quilting and embellishing original imagery onto fabric. The artist’s works include hand dyed yardage, wall hangings, home décor, wearables, wire & beaded jewelry, mixed media collage, etc.
