I'm Lorenzo Negri but call me LORI, a self-taught digital artist. I started many years ago creating 3d landscapes, photorealistic renderings, and texturing with images taken with an old Sony mirrorless (that I still use today for my digital projects). After some years of studying new techniques, I evolved into digital painting, drawing and coloring on a monitor, but I still use photographic elements in my artworks, sometimes 3d models or landscapes, and recently AI models. Since 2015, in my spare time, I've also been an illustrator and there are some books published with my cover artwork out there.

 

Here on Flickr, you'll find my collections of vintage-inspired digital artworks, where each piece is a journey into the aesthetics of the 20th century, from the roaring 1920s to the dynamic 1990s.

 

I have a passion for past illustrative artwork techniques, the pieces collected here are those inspired by the iconic styles of vintage commercials, movie posters, storytelling posters, and other hand-painted media illustrations like the ones you could find on magazines, comics, books, and more. Each of my creations is a blend of nostalgia and imagination, designed to evoke the charm and emotion of those years. My artworks are dances of color, typography, storytelling, and composition, emulating the typical vintage hand-painted style, realized with modern techniques such as painting over photos, matte painting, image manipulation, generative AI elements, and old-style digital painting.

You won't find real commercials or movies or brands here, because all my digital artworks are fiction. All characters, brands, fonts, locations, and events depicted in my artworks are entirely invented and just feel like the real ones of the past. If you find any similarity to actual names of brands, persons, living or dead, or actual locations and/or events present or past is purely coincidental. All the titles, fonts, products, plots, names, people, and locations are the product of my imagination or inspired by real cases and used in a fictitious manner.
