ok, so here's what i think it is. zed doesn't like shooting people (sometimes). With his core work, he capture's space where people have occupied but not present. He likes to avoid people in his more concrete work and heres how i've understood it: he avoids people in his images, and one would think it doesnt involve them, oddly the surroundings which he has captured tells me much more about people.
