I believe when one looks at something, no matter how beautiful or ugly it may appear, as often as not the whole is less than the sum of its parts. My goal is to find the beauty in the bits and pieces of the world around us but which often elude the hurried glances we find ourselves forced to take in our busy lives.

And then there's the bird thing. I spend a lot of time in the field. They're such marvelous creatures. I manage to get a photo worth sharing every now and again.

I've been posting on Flickr for a while. I'm deeply appreciative of the interest and the kind comments I've received. Seriously, thank you.

I find myself continually in awe of the remarkable creativity and talent that so many Flickr users show. Thank you for sharing your images with me, for the inspiration and the pleasure I derive from viewing your work.

One last thing: if you find something of mine that you'd like to use, please ask. If it's for non-profit personal or educational purposes I'll be happy to agree. If you have something else in mind, I'd hope we can come to some sort of agreement. I like to think of myself as a fair-minded and reasonable chap.
