In early 2013, I used some leftover Christmas money to upgrade from a point & shoot and a camera phone to a Sony Nex-5n. After a few months of playing around with it, I bought some old rangefinder lenses and adapters, which really forced me to take the camera out of Auto mode and learn about exposure. I’ve been having a lot of fun with it ever since, and try to get out and shooting every chance I get.

Right now I enjoy shooting just about anything I can find around town, including ghost signs, metal signs, old buildings, and basically anything old and/or rusty. The lenses I typically use are the Canon 50mm 1.4 FDn, 35mm F2 FD, 28mm 2.8 FDn, and Minolta 135mm 2.8 MD.

I have much to learn about photography, but I enjoy practicing. I think I have stumbled upon a pretty fun hobby. And if nothing else, it has taught me to have a greater appreciation for my surroundings, including my hometown, Quincy, IL.

Please feel free to comment on any of my photos, or not. And any advice is greatly appreciated, as I’m still petty new to all of this.

Thanks!

Casey
