I dropped my camera once and the date reset itself. I was too lazy to ever correct it for the longest time... hence some slightly off dates ;p

Evident from viewing my favourites, I also like contrasted black and white, and unnaturally saturated vivid colours. I like macros and awkward angles. I like the world to look sort of like it doesn't really. Or maybe like it actually does.

I have an unnatural affinity for the metro and dilapidation, especially by forgotten war (Gori Vatra is an excellent movie). Stumbled upon art in otherwise mundane or atrocious situations is often more beautiful than that painstakingly created intentionally "for art's sake".

I'm a huge xenophile and linguaphile, almost to the point of discrimination against my own culture -- things are inherently more interesting to me if they're not US-related, English, etc. I especially love French (and Montréal, even though I've never visited yet).

I also like to shoot and develop film. I recently acquired an SLR which I adore. The difference is like comparing Casablanca to Gigli or something... newer, more innovative technology is not always more aweworthy or valuable.

Most of the pictures uploaded here are merely snapshot quality. Artistic works belong in a gallery, not in a generic Walmart art department with 5000 other mass-produced prints. Thus, this is just my journal of everyday life, and just like life itself, sometimes it happens to be more neat and pretty than others. But not often.
