I am not what most people would consider to be an average photographer. Armed with a selection of compact film cameras, I never leave home without one and I am always ready to capture anything that happens around me.
In October 2008 my first solo book Hot Shots was released in the UK, it sold out its UK and US print runs in under a year. It is an instructional book for everyday people and is intended to help them sex up their photography, without being too bogged down in technical jargon.
Since then I have written a 2nd book Photo Op (US title) / 52 Photographic Projects (UK title). This book goes more in depth in to 52 different photo graphic techniques. I have a passion for passing on my knowledge of photography and regularly teach photography courses.
I have also had work published in two Lomo photographic books, one called "Spirit" and the other, "Don't Think Just Shoot." My work has also featured in a range of publications including Photo Pro Magazine, DSLR user magazine, Olympus User Magazine, Russian Esquire, Sonntagszeitung, and the BBC news website. I was a regular contributor to JPG magazine from when it first launched in 2005. In 2006 I was on the panel of judges in New York for flickr.com's "Blink of the Eye" photo competition and judged again in 2008 for pixish.com's "The SXSW Gallery Show" competition. I work commercially as a photographer for a range of different clients which have included Phillips, The Times, The Commonwealth Games 2002, Dr Martens, Stomp, Dell and Imogen Heap.

The man, the bloke, the bastard is a genius—plain and simple. I saw him drink three six packs of Budweiser the other night, and I just don’t know how he does it. Bordering on cavalier, because his mind is always aglow with bright ideas, the man’s talent is awe-inspiring; the man I believe is actually-really-truly a demi-god in disguise…I saw his tail once (a long one) and he wears that bucket cap on his crown because I believe he has horns to hide. Moreover, the guy is Loma King and the fresh prince of flickr too; and he has the bling-bling in every fricken colour imaginable to show it. Kevin has such a distinct style to his photographs that always catches my eye, and he is so knowledgeable with all sorts of techniques. After reading his book "Hot Shots", I've realized that this man has no bounds when it comes to creativity, he comes up with the craziest ideas that I've never even thought about. What always amazes me is the fact that Kevin is able to maintain uniformity within each and every single one of his photos, It's kind of like a label that you can spot from a mile away and you'll still get the idea that it's one of Lomokev's photos :)

What can I say that hasn't already been heard? A local inspiration. Keep up the amazing work, Kev!
to quote the Argus website. lomokev "engaging in stabbings, road rage, rape, paedophilia, verbal abuse, fly tipping, road rage etc."
you..............photographer !
with a second name like Meredith he should be a priest not a photographer, that said he is a great photographer which is a good job as I reckon he'd make a rubbish priest.
After you've looked at Lomokev's photostream, go and buy his book 'Hot Shots'. It is supercool on many different levels: you get to look at some great photography in print form, plus get some ideas for shaking things up a bit. It will make you happy and want to grab your camera and enjoy taking photos.
Possibly my biggest lomography inspiration. This selfmade man is famous in epic proportions but still remains to be kind and personal to his flock of wild groupies. Proud to have met you, even if it was brief and clumsy :)

The great thing about Kev is the fact that he manages to be simultaneously one of the best photographers on Flickr and also a bloody nice bloke. Lomokev is clearly a Cuban spy. Why? Well it's obvious. One. He uses a Lomo - not a flash Kiev but a cheap and nasty Lomo. Two. He uses film. We all know Cuba is so far behind, that the digital age means a swanky wristwatch. Three. His beard. One to make Fidel proud. And Ras-Pu-Tin too. Four. English is clearly his second language. Five. His apparent disdain for Mr and Mrs Gates and their charity. And my solution? Bung him into a wheelie bin and send him on the next slow boat to Cuba. With BleepBloop as company.

I got fired up to take photos after Kev asked me to spell check his forthcoming photography book. I feel so privileged to have had this sneak preview into what promises to be an amazing book. So I'm already out there practicing his techniques while everyone else has to wait for the book to come out! As a thank you for spell checking his book, Kev set up a Flickr account for me, and there's been no looking back.

lomokev is probably the first flickr photographer I found that made me want to come back for more. I haven't got bored of his stuff yet and I doubt I will. He seems to shoot stuff faster than I can view it too.
