the moniker stems from me reading gibson's idoru at the time i first hit the net and needing an id for the then-mighty aol. i remember the sheer exhilaration at the fact that the world seemed to be at my fingertips in the bat of an eyelid (even if on a 14.4. modem eyes batted with the speed of airplane hangar doors). the web 2.0 was nowhere in sight, and now look at all of this, communities, communication, self-publication. some of us are shy, some are spreading themselves thinly over the globe, some voyeurism, some exhibitionism, some activism. it is amazing to me where software is steering us, how it pools us, and how it extends our less than meagre selves through the wires into a great spaghetti-knot of humanity. and it's all in 2D, and pretty lo-rez, and by nature very lo-fi (we all lie), and who knows where all of this is taking us. who knows. let's see ...
