I started doing Polymer clay in 2002. After trying collage and mosaics I saw Donna Kato on the Carol Duval show and had to try polymer clay. Also I love to wear jewelry and with polymer clay I could make my own beads. After about 6 months I found the Northwest Polymer clay guild (www.nwpcg.org/) and was very lucky to get into the 2003 Ravensdale. (Ravensdale is the polymer conference put on by the NWPCG every 3 years). I took classes from Sarah Shiver, Barbara McGuire and Debbie Anderson, and met polymer artists from all over the world.
I started to go to regular NWPCG meetings and was nominated to the VP Programs position in 2004. The next 2 ½ years I scheduled the demonstrations for each monthly meeting, coordinated quarterly clay days, and classes with Dan Cormier and Kathleen Dustin for the guild.
During one of Donna Kato's Clay Carnivals in Las Vegas I was married in Vegas what fun !! That summer my husband and I were awarded the best volunteers at Ravensdale 2006. I currently work with polymer as much as I can with a busy “day job” as a telecommunications engineer and family.
