Drag to set position!
I love to photograph whether it be love, grief, celebration, pain, happiness, I like to use photography as a way of communicating and expressing to a wider audience issues that people are afraid or unwilling to confront.
As an artist/performer I use art as a ‘voice’, an external instrument to express what I cannot in words.
I began piano lessons at the age of 11 and enrolled at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre when it opened in 1987. A classically trained pianist, winning the Dr Allan Mullins scholarship I continued lessons for sometime performing competitively and accompanying students of various instruments for AMEB exams. I continued lessons privately with concert pianist Suzanne Cooper. I continued to further my experience as pianist and accompanist with the Australian Defence Force, 23rd Field Regiment in Kogarah.
I began teaching in 1995 with a passion for educating, motivating and encouraging my students to reach their full potential musically which in turn enhances all aspects of life.
After 30 years I continue to teach, perform and accompany. I have taught in private schools in the Blue Mountains as well as working with children and adults with special needs.
I have substantial experience accompanying choirs, have worked with an Artillary band with The Australian Defence Force School of Music and performed at many charity events. A large part of this was spent working in aged care facilities providing music in a therapeutic setting. I find my work within aged care both rewarding and uplifting!
