I live in a city.

I ride a bicycle.

I have two dogs.

I have three cats.

I like honeybees and streetcars.

I like sad songs.

I photograph things that interest me.

My images do not aspire to journalistic objectivity. I will manipulate an image in order to enhance those qualities of the subject that left the most vivid impression on my mind's eye. I derive great satisfaction from this process.

When I look at my own images a few things come back to me. As a child I loved the paintings of Canaletto. I never tire of looking at them in books or hanging on walls. I have come to realize that some of my images bear the imprint from those early observations.

Flickr has been a wonderful avenue of discovery. Through my own images, and the photos I select as "Favorites" I am getting a better understanding of myself as a designer.
