UB Live is a program run by the Advanced Diploma of Live Production, Theatre & Events (Technical Production) students at the University of Ballarat, SMB Campus.

This Course prepares students to work as technical operators in specialist areas in a range of live entertainment fields such as theatre, music, corporate & major events. This course is for people committed to becoming versatile and skilled workers in the entertainment industry. In Year1 you will learn how to operate & supervise the use of a wide range of sophisticated lighting, sound & vision equipment; Year2 students develop these skills while learning how to manage a range of events. Students have access to fully equipped theatres as well as digital and analogue sound studios, offline lighting editors, vision mixers, computers and full production facilities. Teaching and learning takes place during live performance events with 60-100 artists per year where students participated in operational & management positions. Students are rotated through lighting, sound, vision across the year. Year 2 students manage teams and take responsibility for Production Management, OH&S, budgets, design & operation.
