Live and Learn is an exciting and innovative 5 year project developed by the National Museums Northern Ireland in partnership with Age NI and funded by the Big Lottery.

Using the collections, resources and museum sites of National Museums Northern Ireland the project seeks to engage with older people (50 years +) drawing on participants’ interests, skills and experiences to increase opportunities for learning and creativity. A diverse range of programmes can be developed and can include- creative writing, art, traditional crafts, music and movement, dance, drama and story telling to reminiscence, intergenerational projects, photography and community exhibitions/publications.

Project participation may involve new learning opportunities within participants’ own communities, museum visits and creative workshops, meeting with new groups and even training as a volunteer with the project. Programmes can be flexible to the interests of participants and to levels of commitment. Above all, this will be a fun experience and will promote health and well being for everyone involved.
