WHAT 'S LIFE?

¿HOW TO LIVE?'

(Message found stencilled onto a paramilitary mural in Belfast, 2006)

Books:

IN THE FIRST PLACE (2011, texts revised in 2013), TO THE COMFORT ZONE AND BACK (2011), IN PASSING (2012), WHEN LOVE CAME TO TOWN (2012), and I HAVE A PHOTOGRAPH. IT MIGHT HELP (2013) are all available at:

BLURB (My apologies for the unattractive blue-greenish bias tainting the previews; it's caused by a bug, apparently, and I have asked Blurb repeatedly over several years to fix it -- so far without luck.)

Four of my photos are included in MODISMO: AN ANTHOLOGY OF PHOTOGRAPHY, by Kurt Nimmo (ed.) et al. (Blurb, 2009); and another four can be found in THE LONELY CHRISTMAS TREE PICTURE ALBUM, by Andreas Schmidt (ed.) et al. (Blurb, 2012).

There is more at facebook, and my less recent postings are still available at blogspot, ipernity and JPG.

Avard Woolaver kindly asked me to take part in his interview series. You'll find it here: 8 Questions for Norwegian photographer Lise Utne (November 2017).

Testimonials

Collage and diptych/triptych synthesis are Lise Utne outstanding contribution in photography. Today is New Year's Eve. The time of wishes. Her work to be seen on the walls of a Gallery and her books on the windows of bookshops!

December 31, 2021

what i like most about Lise's' work is it's consistency. she knows just what she's looking for through the lens and takes a distinct, somewhat unconventional, approach to composition and color. her style is appealing for it's structure and balance. her work has a contemporary edge i relate to very well.
