Looking at all the beautiful photos online I am wondering why I am even posting my photos! There is no comparison!! I guess I keep trying because I do enjoy it.
We live on Old Hickory Lake in Mt. Juliet, Tn. There are many different species of birds, insects, and wildlife. We have quite a few hawks and owls living/nesting in our immediate area and eagles and vultures that are nearby. I get kinda frustrated when I take pictures of them because the majority don't turn out. Guess I expect the pictures to be clear and close up, which as you can see doesn't happen!! Anyone that says:"how hard can it be to take pictures of a 'bird' or wildlife" has no idea. I have a lot of respect for people who can do that. Especially the ones who have to 'debug' themselves when finished!
Most every picture that I take/post was taken in my yard, my neighborhood or out a window of my house. There are only a few that were taken elsewhere, which I do add to the description or tag.
I have found that I like taking macro photos the best. I can't believe that I actually like to see what bugs look like up close! I certainly don't want them on me but I don't mind trying to get close to get a picture. I used to run in the opposite direction if I saw a spider bigger than a quarter. Now I run for the camera!
I had no idea that you could see what an individual snowflake looked like until I saw pictures on Flickr. Since then what little snow we get I attempt to take photos of the flakes. My snowflake photos are of only one picture (not several pictures stacked. I wouldn't have any idea how to do that!). I wish that my snowflake pictures were better than what they are, but to be honest I get happy when I'm able to focus on one!
It's amazing to see things in a macro photo. You thought you knew what something looked like....until you see it up close.
I would appreciate any tips or advice with my photos, photo software, etc. If I don't reply to comment right away please don't assume that I'm ungrateful. There are days when I can do very little. I will reply.
Thank You for reading this long entry and for any help or advice that you can give me. I DO appreciate it.
Have a good day!

I've been enjoying Lisa's photographs for a long time. She has all the qualities I favor in photography: a straightforward approach, a natural talent to transcend everyday objects, a great sense of humor and, above all, the remarkable ability to transmit her emotions in a single shot. Undoubtly, Lisa's takes pictures with her heart and I'm proud to consider her a friend.
