A lot has changed since I last updated this profile. I'm now living in Hawaii with a brain tumor, hoping for as many years as I can manage, healing, or surgery.
I'm writing about it at lisarichards.org
==========================================
I take snapshots, lots and lots of snapshots. I like to document our life. We had a house fire in 1996, lost everything but no one, which I am very grateful for. Ever since, though, I take many, many pictures.
We have Icelandic sheepdogs, Great Pyrs, Icelandic chickens, Toulouse Geese, Saxony ducks and Midget White Turkeys.
I have a farm journal at www.mackhillfarm.com. We've been writing Notes from Zone 4 since early 2000.
I also cook, three meals a day for the both of us. I aim to make it as healthy as it can be, and rarely buy processed foods at all. I am trying to grow as much of our food as I can. I am having a love affair with my Fiestaware dishes, and enjoy taking pictures of our meals.
I keep getting asked how old I am, so I figure I will put it here. I was born in 1965.

It is a slice of life from the east side of the USA (particularly the frozen north), in a home spun way, stop and look for a minute, you will be happy you did (especially if you like to look at food)- Vic

Not only is Lisa an amazing writer she has an remarkable knack for capturing nature at its best. The metamorphosis Lisa’s life has taken from savvy business woman to incredible Zen farmer is outstanding! I look forward to reading seeing her adventures unfold on a daily basis. We purchased tasted their honey and it’s divine!!! I live vicariously through her via her journal and photos learning something new every day – never tiring of seeing the new life evolving at Mack Farm. Oh and the food porn she posts – cruel Lisa! Very cruel :):):)!!! Great job, well done! I think you and Frank are on to something wonderful!
