I became interested in Photography when I was 14 (1974). I was a member of the Photographic Society in Mount Temple School – which had a black and white darkroom. My first camera was an Agfa Silette LK. Later I changed to a Praktica LB and I bought a 135 mm telephoto lens to go with it. I did my own BW prints and the occasional sets of slides. In college I traded in the Praktica for an OM1 which really liked and still have and occasionally use today. After college, without access to a darkroom and life getting busy I mainly shot holiday snaps.

In 2004 I drifted into digital Photography, with a small Olympus, followed by Nikon D40X, D300S and now a D810 which I bought back in 2014. It’s been a slow burn – work took a fair bit of my time. But recently I have retired and am taking a new found interest.

I have no formal training, apart from reading a few books and magazines.

I just joined Offshoot Photography club and am looking forward to 2023.
