I think I lack the eloquence to properly describe what photography has come to mean for me since I took it up properly last november. I'd always been interested in the ability of a single image to tell a story, and to reveal something about its subject and its maker, but had never had the inclination or the discipline to follow up on my idle curiousity.

As my obsession continues to grow, however, photography has become far more important to me than I ever suspected it might; it is one of the great passions of my short life, and I hope I will still be saying so of my long life many years from now.

Put simply, I am enthralled by the concept of interpreting people, landscapes, and objects through the still image, by the thought that by isolating something or someone in a moment, I might pervert or change them somehow. That I might create an image which is honest and true, but that also reveals something new.

I hope, one day, to produce work sufficient to think of myself as an artist, but for now, I hope you find some small thing to enjoy in my photostream. I know, with little doubt, that I will see much to amaze me in yours. In the end, I am on flickr because I wish to learn.
