GROUPS I JOINED AND LEFT
Over time I joined a lot of groups, way too many.
Recently I started sweeping them and leave hijacked groups (admins gone and dumpers took over) and groups with the 30/60 group limit.
Most of the 30/60 limit groups are also left without administration, and that's the main reason why that rule remains in place. Flickr introduced this to all groups and as only the admins of the groups can change this, those abandoned by their admins will remain 30/60 restricted forever.
However some admins keep their groups voluntarily restricted for whatever misguided reason. I manage a lot of groups, so I'm well placed to know it's possible to run groups, even specialist groups without that stupid rule.
I always mail the admin to ask them if they're willing to remove that restriction. If not, that's their choice, I will not hold it against them, but its byebye for me.
I will also leave groups if my submitted photo is rejected for no apparent reason. I will always go back to check posting rules in case I missed something. But if the reason for rejection is not clear I'm gone. There are way too many groups on Flickr to have me stress over one of them.
PLEASE NO SELF-PROMOTING COMMENTS on my pictures
I will block you, so don't take it personal. I This will happen to all who place comments for the sole purpose of promoting their facebook or other personal pages
PLEASE NO INVITES to MANDATORY COMMENTING GROUPS
Please don't invite me to mandatory comment groups I'm not a member of. I am already a member of a lot of groups, so I'm choosing my groups carefully and on my terms only.
I've tried commenting groups to please some of my contacts, but it takes too much time.
If an admin invites me to a commenting group I will click OK add it, and I will NOT comment, even with a SWEEPER ACTIVE MESSAGE.
Most of the time I don't even read the posting terms, because I'm too busy. I just click the ADD IT button.
USE OF MY PICTURES
The latest hype seems to be getting accepted by Getty Images. I tried it too, not really knowing what it was all about. After first posting a few pictures I forgot all about it. Suddenly after a year or so I got invited to the club. When I did not respond for lack of time to finally read all the fine print, I got invited again, so I did read all the terms of use and fine print, and I must say right now I cannot be bothered. It's too much hassle, and to be honest I'm not a professional photographer, nor do I have the photographic equipment to make high quality images.
So all my pictures can be used on websites, as long as they're properly credited and link back to my original photo. There's no need to ask for my permission..
Same goes for use on leaflets, templates, magazines etc... . A credit to my name is required.
I think that's the least you can do for the free use of my pictures.
As I recently discovered some people are without shame, and just steal other people's pictures passing them off as their own, I disallowed downloading of the original files.
