I am a Canadian artist of Armenian descent. I have a degree in Fine arts (BFA) as well as Bachelor of Science from Concordia University, Montreal. My life is inspired by oriental philosophies such as Taoism and Zen Buddhism. There teachings reflect in my work also.

In my art I strive to capture the essence, rather that photographic representation of the subject matter. My paintings are Sumie style (based on Chinese calligraphy) bringing out my connection to the spirit of the subject matter. In my graphite pencil or ink with graphite drawings I also seek to capture the mood or energy...the essence of the moment.

I teach sumie (oriental brush painting), which in core is a form of a Brush Meditation.
