WORDS AS STARTING POINTS
"What can be thought at all can be thought clearly. Everything that can be said can be said clearly." (L. Wittgenstein)
Having this Wittgenstein’s sentence in mind, in my work I am trying to visually define different feelings by using a graphical definition and by visualizing meaning of the words. I pursue the strategy of equating the signifier and the signified. Although my work has been developed with reference to the textual heritage of the conceptual art which was very influential in the 1950s and 1960s in Europe, what separates me from my “predecessors” is the awareness of the non-existence of an objective and exact language, a language that is free of cultural or ideological influence. It is determined by our own interpretations. This insight enables me to transfigure, exchange and play with meanings which emerge in the interaction between the works and the visitors.
