Hi there. I'm Melissa Stramel,a pattern designer. My girl's clothing patterns have a vintage feel with a modern twist.

I describe my style as "vintage modern." I've been called the queen of making old new. I like to take a vintage pattern and twist it with modern fabrics or modern techniques. As to color, I like pink, turquoise, navy blue, red. I think my daughter has rubbed off on me! I also like about anything bright and I'm not too hip on black, brown, tan. You get it. I also have a real love for vintage, nostalgic style. Show me something from the 20s, 30s, 40s or 50s and I'll probably love it. That includes old fabrics and modern reproductions. Not too novelty though.

I have three small children and a sweet husband who puts up with my fabric "nuttiness" as he calls it. :)
