Artist first and always, the

medium may change but

the goal is the same. My big

passions besides photography

are astronomy, jazz and

history. I play music, write

prose and poetry and dance

when I can. Since 2001, photography has become my biggest source of income. I

was profiled in a local newspaper, and things began to

cascade, as sales of my prints

increased, and assignments started coming in.

I teach digital photography

in a variety of settings, public and private. I also

mentor a high school class in

a less fortunate area, where

resources are thin. I collect

gear for the kids and get

them started with Photoshop, etc. For a time, I had the

interesting experience of

teaching a high school class

in an affluent suburb, while

at the same time working with

my other kids on the other side of the tracks. To be

honest, it's the latter who

captured my heart, whose soulfulness and creativity rise to the challenges of life.

I left the affluent high school taking a lot of Tums

and Maalox and feeling like

I had to grow a new skin.
