My name is [Nocturne] I shoot almost exclusively at night and travel around the UK shooting abandoned locations at night.
I have invented my own word for night photography: 'Noctography' - means 'Nocturnal Photography' I am hoping that if enough people use the word it will become a word in the english dictionary.
I was in the final for Photographer of the year 2008 beating 120,000 to the final. Unfortunately I did not win but being in the final was good enough for me.
I was also in the final for Astronomy Photographer of the year 2009, 2010 and 2011 again I did not win but to be in the final was good enough.
I was in the final for Bing's Your Britain Competition 2011.
I am currently starring in a Night Photography/Light Painting Movie about the best Night Photographers in the world. Myself and 10 others are featured.
Currently have 22 very large prints on display in Wythanshawe hospital in Manchester.
I received a life time achievement award for photography at the age of 21.

Chris is clearly on a mission to produce some of the utmost fantastic images of scenes captured at night. I have been following his noctography ever since I discovered light painting and can say without a doubt that he will be a continual source of inspiration. Continue doing what you do bro. You are not only inspirational but also motivational in that I will expect your photography to push me to stay up late and get out at night to try to make the magic happen. Carry on Nocturne. Carry on.

When I first started with Night Photography, I got most of my inspiration from Chris's amazing talent. Chris is out to make low light and night photography known around the world, and he is doing it in style! There are very few night photographers out there who have an eye like Chris's; he manages to bring out the very best in the decayed, destroyed, and the abandoned. I highly respect Chris as a photographer; he is setting new standards for the night photography world, producing some incredible work, and inspiring many new night photographers.

Chris was my first flickr contact and my admiration for his exceptional skills with light in the dark grows every time he submits a new image. They are always striking with extreme angles, vivid psychological colours and original subject matter, which draw you into mysterious stories in empty spaces that we usually only see on a tv screen. The technical brilliance of each and every image and his endless dangerous quest for interesting locations shows massive amounts of effort, determination, enthusiasm, dedication and passion for photography to which I can only take my hat off to him. At such a young age he is deemed the ‘master of night photography’ and I look very forward to see him soar even higher in years to come.

Nocturne is the master of night and light. His photos take us to places we were not supposed to see and shows us these places in such a beautiful light(pun intended). Regardless of your experience level you will definitely learn something from going through his photos....

[Nocturne] was one of my first contacts of flickr and ever since i have been amazed by the quality and quantity of photos he uploads. I still remember the first picture that really clicked for me, it was www.flickr.com/ph... I remember thinking, damn, i know the feeling of putting oneself in danger for the thrill of getting an awesome shot. His work lives in a different dimension than my own, yet our styles are interconnected as well. The locations chosen for the work are always amazing, and the thrill of urbex or urban exploration lends itself well to the specific style of painting with light. My favorite photographers are people who take the time and put forth the effort to achieve great work, and [Nocturne] is at the forefront of utilizing locations to their greatest advantage. Put simply, best urbex light painter around. Keep it up, but i know you will.
