I have been always interested in artistic things from music to painting and now of course photography. I did do some basic photography lesson in high-school but they were mainly designed to keep us entertained for an hour or two each week rather than teach us anything.
During (and after) my first trip to China in 2009, I discovered that not only was I very fond of taking nature shots but also that I would need to upgrade my camera equipment if I wanted to be even a little serious about my photography.
In April 2010 I decided to get a mid-range camera, the Ricoh GX200, and it has served me well up till now. I am now looking into a DSLR purchase and also into HDR-style photography as well. It may be sometime before I get that DSLR but I'm not going to let it stop me from going out and taking lots of pictures.
Not every picture I take is wonderful and I can't always tell which ones are going to be considered great by others but I am definitely starting to get a feel for things and what makes a good or bad photo overall. With my current sets taken on the GX200, I have been receiving increasingly more and more positive feedback on my work, which is strengthening my resolve to pursue the art of photography even more.
If you'd like to enquire about any of my prints for commercial purposes, you can contact me through the FlickrMail service and I will answer it promptly.
