I was born in 1957 i Sydney and live in Sweden since 1959. Educated engineer and librarian, nowadays I work as a translator. I take an interest in the philosophical aspect of the questions of life and work with the Vivotopia team. My hobbies are photo and nature, and I enjoy walking and bicycling.

During my early years - 1970s and 1980s - I used various 35 mm cameras from Nikon, Olympus and Contax - with lenses ranging from 15 to 400/500 mm (1600 mm with two extenders!); I can still remember the marvellous feeling of my first Nikkormat in 1971, also with exciting 24/2.8, 50/1.4 and 85/1.8 lenses, which I was able to borrow.

During the years 2004-2008 I have been using a Canon EOS 20D, which I have recently upgraded to a 50D. The lenses are: kit zoom lens, 60/2.8 macro, 70-200/2.8L which I later traded in for a 135/2L, and a 300/2.8L IS plus an 1.4x II extender. I prefer to use large apertures, because I feel that the Patterns of Life are often more fully conveyed that way.
